Temperature is perhaps the most extensively examined of the variables that may affect molecular/cellular/ tissue/organismal function.  Yet, surprisingly little is known concerning the capacity of organisms to rapidly acclimate to low temperature, especially in nature.  In my laboratory we work toward a better understanding of low temperature acclimation by answering questions at multiple levels of biological organization from the molecule through populations of organisms.
