Learman Research Laboratory

Department of Biology and Earth and Atmospheric Sciences

Institute for Great Lakes Research

Central Michigan University

The lab’s focus is directed towards understanding the genetic and physiological responses of microorganisms that control biogeochemical cycles in various environments, ranging from lakes to soils.  We use an interdisciplinary approach to understand these processes by utilizing a range of techniques in molecular biology, biochemistry, next-generation sequencing, and geochemistry.
