Journal of Statistical Distributions and Applications is a new international refereed journal that publishes high quality papers related to statistical distributions and applications. It provides a platform for researchers and practitioners to publish and share their research work in both methodological development and novel applications of statistical distributions. This journal is now open for manuscript submission.

What I have done in the past - RESUME (updated Feb, 2013)

Currently, I am a full professor of statistics in the Department of Mathematics, and serve as the program director for the Graduate Certificate Program in Data Mining at Central Michigan University. I am a Dow Chemical Six Sigma Black Belt. I am also working as a senior faculty research fellow at the Center for Applied Research & Technology. The research projects are data mining and  business intelligence projects from industries, such as Dow Chemical, Dow Corning, EDS, Eli-Lily, International Paper, Henry Ford Hospital Systems and so on. I received a Ph.D. in Statistics in 1984 at the Department of Statistics, Iowa State University.

  • 2009: Outstanding Teaching Award, College of Science & Technology, Central Michigan University

  • 2007: First Place, the First International Quality Improvement Project Competition in Education, American Society of Quality. The project title: Six Sigma project for improving mathematics placement at CMU.
  • 2006: Presidential Research Award for outstanding scholarly activity achievement, Central Michigan University

  • 1998: Elected Member of the International Statistical Institute

Graduate Certificate Program in Data Mining    Our program integrates data mining, text mining and GIS in the curriculum. Students will also receive the SAS Data Mining Certificate.
