RESUME (updated September, 2016)

 I received a Ph.D. in Statistics in 1984 from the Department of Statistics, Iowa State University.  Currently, I am a full professor of statistics in the Department of Mathematics, and serve as the program director for the Data Mining/Analytics program at Central Michigan University. I am a Dow Chemical Six Sigma Black Belt. I am also working as a senior faculty research fellow at the Institute of Health and Business Insights. The research projects are data mining and business intelligence projects from industries, such as Dow Chemical, Dow Corning, EDS, Eli-Lily, International Paper, Henry Ford Hospital Systems and so on. My current research interest are statistical distributions, modeling and applications, data mining/analytics and applications, statistical education on the effectiveness of active learning and flipped classes.

Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences with Concentration in Statistics

Newly revised PhD program with concentration in Statistics. The program offers teaching internship for students choosing career in collegiate career and industrial internship for students choosing career in industry.

M.S. in Applied Statistics & Analytics

The program has two tracks: Applied Statistics and Big Data Analytics. Two year program. Internship is required. Two SAS professional certificate exams are offered on campus.

Graduate Certificate Program in Data Mining  

 Our program integrates data mining, text mining and GIS in the curriculum. Students will also receive the SAS Data Mining Certificate.
