Project Using Lung Cancer Data

Project:

The Lung Cancer data set is used for various analyses in this online training workshop, which includes:

Source of Data:

Lawless, J.F. 1983, p.287 (Table 6.3.1), Statistical Models and Methods for Lifetime Data.

Description of Data:

The data consists of data on 40 lung cancer patients  used to compare the the effect of two chemotherapy treatment in prolonging survival time.
Variables in the data set are:

SurvialTime: The survival time in days after the treatment

bullet

Censored: An indicator variable

bullet

0: complete uncensored case

bullet

1: stands for censored case

bullet

Med_cond: the general medical condition at diagnosis of lung cancer on a scale of 0 to 100

bullet

Age: Patient’s age at diagnosis

bullet

Time_diag_study: Number of days between diagnosis of lung case and treatment

bullet

TumorType: Tumor types

bullet

Squamous

bullet

Small

bullet

Adeno

bullet

Large

bullet

Treatment: Two levels of treatment

Standard treatment

Experimental treatment
