Mathematics for Elementary Teachers I

The course is the first in the sequence of courses focused on mathematics that an elementary school teacher needs to know for teaching. It is based on the philosophy that mathematical ideas are learned only through active involvement; lecturing is therefore reduced to a minimum and teaching methodology rests on small group activities, presentations and whole class discussions.

• Bring the book and paper manipulatives kit to every class.

• Work hard from the beginning as there are no extra credit activities.
