Worksheets

You will have two Discussion/Recitation sections each week, held on Wednesdays and Fridays, and run by a TA. On Wednesdays, you will work in small groups on worksheets (of up to 4 people maximum). On Fridays, typically you will have a short quiz and then a shorter worksheet (which will follow the same format as the worksheets on Wednesday).

The worksheets are worth 5% of your total grade. The lowest 4 worksheet grades will be dropped. Since these are worth so little of your overall grade, no makeup worksheets will be offered for any reason. Grades will be posted on Moodle. The grading on these will be fairly minimal as it is expected that questions or mistakes will most often be addressed by the TA during the hour.

The TA will assist you with the worksheets. However, it is not the job of your TA to "hold your hand". You should check your notes to understand what the question is asking, and to check how similar examples were done in class. Also, do not ask your TA if your answer is correct. They have been instructed not to answer this.

Only one worksheet per group will be graded, and so only one worksheet per group should be submitted. It is considered an academic offence to write down a classmate's name on the worksheet if they are not present, and any such act will be treated severely. The TA's have been instructed to check for this. Finally, pass the worksheet in immediately at the end of class. Do not wait. If you wait and your TA leaves the room, then your group will get 0 on that worksheet.

The worksheets will be posted below as the term progresses. Grades will be posted on Moodle.
